Dr. Ingrid Diaz is a bilingual Clinical and Forensic Psychologist specializing in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). With extensive experience in evidence-based treatment, she helps clients develop practical skills to overcome challenges and achieve lasting change. Her expertise in cognitive behavior modification has proven particularly effective in treating anxiety, depression, PTSD, and complex trauma across diverse populations.
Drawing from her deep understanding of multicultural perspectives, Dr. Diaz offers her services in both English and Spanish, ensuring accessible mental health care for the Latino community and beyond. She employs a collaborative, solution-focused approach.
As a respected forensic expert since 2006, Dr. Diaz conducts comprehensive psychological assessments and provides treatment recommendations, working closely with law enforcement, corrections, and probation officers. Her assessment experience spans children, adolescents, and adults across all levels of care, with particular expertise in evaluating adjudicated youth. Legal teams and law enforcement agencies depend on her recommendations to determine custody agreements, return to work readiness, and other issues that directly impact clients’ lives.
Dr Diaz obtained her bachelor’s in Psychology & Caribbean Studies, and a Master’s degree in Social Work from Rutgers University. Dr. Diaz obtained her second Master’s Degree and PhD in Clinical Psychology from Fielding University in Santa Barbara, California. She is a fierce advocate for mental health services for the Latino community, Veterans, and law enforcement. Her distinguished career includes serving on a selective advisory committee to the U.S. Congress under President Obama's administration, where she advised on Latino mental health services. She has also been instrumental in developing the NJ Vet-to-Vet program and regularly trains professionals nationwide on CBT, trauma, and suicide assessment. She is on the Board of Advisors to Farleigh Dickson University Clinical Psychology Graduate Program.
Recognition for her work includes features in NBC News, induction into the National Association of Professional Women's VIP circle (2016), Middlesex County Woman of the Year Award (2011), and the UMDNJ/UBHC Master Clinician's Award (2004).
